House Republicans cut funding for federal prosecutors, anti-terrorism efforts, and law enforcement agents
Today, Juan Ciscomani voted to advance a dangerous, anti-law enforcement and anti-abortion funding bill to the House floor that will make communities less safe nationwide.
Ciscomani and his colleagues are making communities less safe by slashing critical federal funds, starting with defunding the FBI by $368 million and forcing the agency to fire thousands of workers. This bill, in total, would eliminate nearly $1 billion in funding from the Department of Justice, and force huge reductions in federal prosecutors and other personnel who fight violent crime and terrorism.
This extreme funding bill also furthers attacks on abortion rights by making it easier for state and local governments to pass local bans and restrictions, and robbing women who seek abortion care of protections from workplace discrimination.
Ciscomani wants to make America less safe and cannot be trusted to stand up for Arizonans in Congress.
DCCC Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:
“With this latest attack on law enforcement, Juan Ciscomani continues to prove that he prioritizes himself and his far-right colleagues over Arizonans’ safety, and that’s why voters will send Ciscomani packing in November.”
