Juan Ciscomani’s March Toward a Nationwide Abortion Ban: Attacking Service Members’ Access to Reproductive Care

Yesterday, Juan Ciscomani voted for new, extreme restrictions on abortion care for 350,000 active duty women in the military.

House Republicans, including Ciscomani, voted overwhelmingly to insert a far-right amendment that would restrict service members’ ability to seek and access essential reproductive care, undermining bipartisan efforts to strengthen health care for our armed forces.

Ciscomani is paving the way for a national abortion ban with his vote on new restrictions for service members.

Ciscomani, who is a member of the Republican Study Committee that backs a total national abortion banalready voiced their support for these anti-abortion restrictions last week.

DCCC Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:
“If it’s a day that ends in ‘Y’, Juan Ciscomani will vote for national abortion restrictions. He is more interested in attacking the reproductive freedoms of our country’s service members than ensuring our troops have the support they need, and Arizonans won’t forget how wrong Ciscomani’s attacks are when they head to the polls in November.”
