| There’s no sugar-coating it: Juan Ciscomani has been a disaster for Arizona’s farmers and ranchers.
Farm bankruptcies — which increased by 46% in 2025 — are soaring to levels not seen since the COVID-19 pandemic. Farmers and consumers are paying the ultimate price for Ciscomani’s senseless, reckless trade war. Over the past year, the USDA reports 15,000 farms were lost, and many more are in danger.
Purdue’s farmer sentiment barometer shows that half of producers report their farm operations are worse off than one year ago, and 31% expect their operating loans to increase (up from 23% in 2025).
REMINDER: Ciscomani is no friend to Arizona’s farmers and ranchers:
- Ciscomani voted TWICE last month to protect price-spiking tariffs that are devastating Arizona’s agricultural economy. Ciscomani voted for similar legislation to protect tariffs last year.
- Ciscomani stayed SILENT while the Administration proposed importing Argentinian beef – a slap in the face to cattle ranchers across Arizona.
- Ciscomani voted AGAINST extending Affordable Care Act tax credits, which provide a crucial lifeline to many of the 1 in 4 farmers and ranchers who depend on the ACA marketplace.
DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Juan Ciscomani is using farmers and ranchers as pawns in his chaotic and failing trade war, leaving the agriculture industry on the brink of collapse. While the President bails out foreign countries and undercuts fair markets, Ciscomani has no plan to put Arizona farmers and ranchers first.” |
