Last night, voters in red-state Kansas resoundingly voted to protect their access to abortion.
Don’t tell the national Republicans who claim “abortion isn’t the winning issue Democrats think it is.”
This is a warning to CA-49 congressional candidate Brian Maryott, who supports legally defining life as beginning at conception, which would ban all abortions. He has not even allowed for exceptions in cases of rape, incest, or when the woman’s life is at risk. His radical stand could ban certain types of birth control such as IUDs.

“The results in Kansas should ring alarm bells for Brian Maryott – who supports a nationwide ban on abortion even in cases of rape, incest, or when the woman’s life is at risk, and wants to ban certain types of birth control. Voters made clear in a state much redder than California that they don’t want an extremist agenda attacking women’s rights to make their own health care decisions.”
