In an interview earlier today, vulnerable House Republican John Katko praised Trump’s “perceptible change in his tone and demeanor in the last week or so” as “encouraging.”
We might have missed something. Because in the last week, Trump has:
- Praised dictators who kill their own citizens, like Saddam Hussein.
- Doubled-down on insulting Prisoners of War.
- Revealed that he is clueless about the Constitution.
Katko’s nod to Trump isn’t surprising. He pledged to support his party’s nominee (Donald Trump) earlier this year.
“If vulnerable House Republican John Katko thinks that Donald Trump’s latest round of insults and demagoguery is ‘encouraging,’ then it is clear he has been a Trump sidekick all along,” said Bryan Lesswing at the DCCC.
