Tom Kean Jr. caved. After cravenly dodging, he finally stepped up and called for his supporter Mayor Sal Bonaccorso to resign after our calls to do so.

A three part play:

ACT ONE: The opener. Kean Jr. refused to call on his supporter Mayor Sal Bonaccorso to resign over his racist and sexist comments. Kean even deleted Bonaccorso’s endorsement tweet. We called Kean Jr. out on it.

ACT TWO: That night, Insider NJ reported on our clear call that Kean Jr’s empty comments weren’t good enough; he must call on his supporters to resign. The Kean team ducked us: “The Kean campaign declined to respond directly to the DCCC statement.

ACT THREE: The finale. NJ Advance reports Kean Jr. finally folds, calls on his supporter to resign.
