Kean Jr. Takes Endorsement From David Duke Admirer Steve Scalise

Scalise Once Said He Was “Like David Duke Without the Baggage”
Days after receiving withering criticism for campaigning with Trump enabler Kevin McCarthy, Tom Kean Jr. is doubling down on far right extremism. 

Yesterday, the NJ Globe reported Kean Jr. received the endorsement of Rep. Steve Scalise. Scalise famously gave a speech at a white supremacist gathering and told a reporter he was “like David Duke without the baggage.” 

Recently Scalise has:

  • Voted to invalidate millions of votes and overturn the 2020 election in fealty to Donald Trump
  • Helped lead the GOP Caucus in unanimously opposing stimulus checks, small business relief, and vaccine funding in the American Rescue Plan
  • Led the GOP caucus in voting against funding for the Gateway Tunnel project and for capping the SALT deduction
