While Trump wages a war against health care, endangers our troops, and stokes the flames of hate, Tom Kean Jr. has put his own loyalty to the President ahead of the needs of NJ-07.
Kean Jr. embraced Trump earlier this year, attending a Trump rally in state. Even as other Republicans speak out against Trump’s actions, Kean has been notably and predictably silent:
- During a global pandemic, Kean Jr. has been silent on Donald Trump’s latest efforts to gut health care protections for New Jerseyans with pre-existing conditions.
- He has been silent for months as towns across NJ-7 lay off workers while Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell continue to block millions of dollars of much-needed state and local relief.
- He was silent when Donald Trump directed officials to “slow down” COVID-19 testing in New Jersey and across the country.
- He has been silent as Donald Trump allowed Russia to secretly offer Afghan militants bounties to kill U.S. Troops.
- He was silent when Donald Trump promoted a “white power” video on Twitter.
- He was even silent when Donald Trump gassed peaceful protesters for a photo-op.
“It’s clear from Tom Kean Jr.’s months of silence that he’ll sell out anything to appease Donald Trump and further his own political career–our towns, our troops, our health and even our rights,” said DCCC Spokesperson Christine Bennett.
