As the Trump Administration recklessly slashes nearly $8 billion in federal funding for clean energy projects – hitting California hardest of any state – Ken Calvert is nowhere to be found.
According to the New York Times: “Mr. Calvert…stand[s] to lose the most. The largest canceled award would provide $1.2 billion to projects in California focused on the production, transportation and storage of clean hydrogen.”
The cancellation of the Alliance for Renewable Clean Hydrogen Energy Systems project touching parts of Calvert’s district threatens 220,000 jobs alone.
Calvert’s silence is especially cruel considering his own district saw an additional $6.6 million in energy project grants cut.
But now that D.C. Party Bosses have decided to gut these clean energy projects, it’s crickets from Ken Calvert.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Californians can’t trust a word Ken Calvert says. After pretending to champion California’s energy future, Calvert is silent while his D.C. party bosses cancel billions for state energy projects and threaten good-paying jobs in his district. Calvert’s silence isn’t just deafening — it’s a betrayal.” |
