Despite electricity prices rising twice as fast as inflation this year, Kentucky Republicans voted to raise energy bills on hardworking Americans today.
House Republicans pushed through an extreme funding bill that slashes more than $3.3 million from Kentucky for programs designed to lower utility bills for American families.
The program most hurt by Republicans’ spending bill is the Weatherization Assistance Program, which reduces energy costs for families through energy efficiency.
REMINDER: Under Kentucky Republicans’ Big, Ugly Law alone, Kentucky would see a spike of $630 in annual energy bills.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“Kentucky Republicans have now voted TWICE this year to raise energy costs on hardworking Kentuckians. Their vote is both political malpractice and incredibly cruel to millions of households struggling to pay their bills. As working families across the country see their utility bills go up and up, the DCCC will make sure everyone knows Kentucky Republicans are to blame when they vote in 2026.” |
