Kevin Coughlin Silent as Reckless Tariffs Hurting Northeast Ohio

Reckless tariff policy is wrecking havoc on Northeast Ohio – and Kevin Coughlin can’t be bothered to stand up for families or businesses hurt by rising prices.

In just the past month, tariffs are raising costs and hurting Northeast Ohio’s economy and working families:

  • American households could pay $2,300 more per year on average due to reckless tariff policy, according to new research.
  • Hoppin’ Frog Brewery in Akron has lost 20 to 25% of its sales in 2025 due to tariffs that have caused distributors’ purchases to dry up.
  • Akron-based guitar pedal manufacturer Earthquaker Devices has seen a 200% increase in costs and 30% decrease in sales after tariffs went into effect.
  • Serra Auto Park’s managing partner warns that tariffs are already causing vehicle costs – both purchasing and maintenance – to rise.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Lobbyist Kevin Coughlin refuses to stand up against reckless tariffs that are jacking up costs for families and hurting Ohio businesses. Coughlin will be forced to defend his cost-raising agenda and it’s why he’ll lose (again!) next year.”
