Yesterday, Donald Trump said he is open to restricting or banning birth control, saying when asked by a Pittsburgh TV station if he support any restrictions on contraception: “We’re looking at that, and I’m going to have a policy on that very shortly, and I think it’s something that you’ll find interesting. I think it’s a smart decision. But we’ll be releasing it very soon.”
The presumptive Republican nominee for president has previously celebrated his “miracle” efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade and proposed a national abortion ban.
With Trump’s latest foreshadowing, Kevin Coughlin now has the green light to continue targeting access to reproductive care.
DCCC Spokesperson Aidan Johnson:
“Kevin Coughlin has proven time and again that, no matter what Trump says or does, he always embraces his extremism – and this week that means embracing Trump’s continued attacks against reproductive freedoms.” |
