Kevin McCarthy’s Embarrassing Weekend

Minority leader Kevin McCarthy is desperate for power and influence but people are rejecting his pathetic rhetoric from every angle.

Here are three embarrassing moments for Kevin McCarthy from this weekend:

  1. In a pre-recorded video, McCarthy joined Donald Trump at a rally in Wyoming to support and endorse Rep. Liz Cheney’s primary opponent, Harriet Hageman. The Trump-supporting crowd began to boo McCarthy as soon as his video began – likely due to McCarthy’s leaked phone call where he said Trump should resign and criticized him.

  2. In response to Kevin McCarthy’s refusal to comply with the bipartisan Jan. 6 Select Committee’s subpoena to testify, a Republican member roasted McCarthy for “kissing up” to Trump. Rep. Adam Kinzinger stated“Kevin McCarthy has no respect for the institution anymore, for the process. All he wants to do is be powerful and it’s not even being powerful through normal means, it’s through really kissing up to Donald Trump.”

  3. Following the horrific massacres in Buffalo and at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas that killed dozens, Kevin McCarthy tried to avoid discussing his party’s disgusting record of siding with the gun lobby over protecting children’s lives. Rather than explain why his party voted against common sense background checks that 90% of Americans support, Kevin McCarthy pathetically suggested the solution to stopping mass shootings is to eliminate doors and have “one central point of interest” in schools.

Kevin McCarthy is getting bucked by both the extreme and ‘moderate’ branches of the Republican party and a majority of Americans for his lies, deception, and extremism. It’s clear Republicans, including Kevin McCarthy, would rather play politics in an effort to gain power than address the challenges that America faces.

DCCC spokesperson Chris Taylor:
“Kevin McCarthy and the Republican Party are only interested in power, while Democrats continue to put forward solutions to keep our economy moving and lower prices for American families.”
