Kevin McCarthy’s No Good, Very Bad Day

48 days out from Election Day and Kevin McCarthy is not having a good one. Just today:

1. McCarthy’s team scooped their own 18 month-long “agenda” rollout. The GOP offers no substantive policy proposals that would help families – including no plan to fight inflation – but they do suggest a nationwide abortion ban. The webpage is now password-protected, but don’t worry, we got screenshots.

2. NRCC-backed GOP candidate J.R. Majewski was exposed for lying about his military service. According to new reporting from the AP, the Q-anon loving, insurrection attendee was not a combat veteran deployed to Afghanistan, despite Majewski and the NRCC’s claims that he was.

3. THREE House race ratings moved in favor of Democrats today while McCarthy’s NRCC Chair Tom Emmer was distracted by his race for GOP whip.

4. A new report from CNN reveals that NRCC-backed MI-03 candidate John Gibbs’ former “think tank” argued “women did not ‘posess (sic) the characteristics necessary to govern’,” called for “a patriarchal society run by men,” and “actively argued against women being granted the right to vote.”

We can only hope that Kevin McCarthy continues to embarrass himself and showcase how fragile his grip on the GOP is.
