| The NRCC and Kevin McCarthy’s office are in damage control mode as outlets report on the House GOP leader’s hypocrisy and lies.
Last week, McCarthy claimed the New York Times’ reporting was “totally false and wrong,” but released audio of McCarthy himself proved the report’s accuracy, forcing McCarthy and other Republicans like NRCC Chair Tom Emmer into a rabbit hole of dodging and deflecting comment on McCarthy’s bald-faced lie.
The headlines say it all: choosing to categorically deny accurate reporting was a big mistake for the GOP – and now they’re paying for it.
If Republicans are willing to flat out lie to reporters, what will stop them from continuing to lie to the American people? Short answer: nothing.
