Today, Rep. John Faso’s Establishment Republican Congress voted to hike taxes on the middle class so that they can hand out huge tax cuts to large corporations and the very wealthy. The Republican Tax Scam eliminates popular middle class deductions for state and local taxes, medical expenses, and student loans while slashing taxes for the wealthiest Americans.
“There’s a wrecking ball coming straight for the middle class in New York’s 19th Congressional District, thanks to Speaker Ryan and Washington Republicans’ Tax Scam,” said DCCC Spokesman Evan Lukaske. “This is a Republican Tax Scam and the victims are the millions of middle class families who will see their taxes go up while corporations and the wealthy laugh all the way to the bank. Rep. Faso’s constituents will hold him accountable for this middle class tax hike next November.”
