Today in the House Ways & Means Committee, Rep. Schweikert voted against H.Res 479. This Resolution of Inquiry directs the Secretary of the Treasury to turn over President Trump’s personal and business tax returns to the House of Representatives. Major party nominees for President since Gerald Ford have released their personal income tax returns.
This is the 18th time Congressman Schweikert has voted to shield President Trump’s tax returns from public scrutiny. According to FiveThirtyEight.com, Congressman Schweikert has a Trump score of 95%.
“It’s troubling that Congressman Schweikert doesn’t think the American people have the right to know if the American President is acting in their best interest or his own bottom line,” said DCCC spokesperson Rachel Irwin. “The American people deserve to know how President Trump is profiting off of the presidency and what conflicts of interest may exist.”
