Kiggans and Wittman Have Failed to Lower Costs: Virginia Families Are Paying $1,200+ More Due to Inflation

Virginians are paying more under their leadership

Prices are rising across the board for Virginians under Jen Kiggans’ and Rob Wittman’s failed leadership.

According to a new study from the Joint Economic Committee released today, Virginia families are spending $1,269 more on average on everyday expenses, such as housing, transportation, food, clothing, health care and utilities.

Kiggans, Wittman, and Congressional Republicans swept into Washington last year with a promise to deliver on their campaign promise to lower costs for Americans – but have done the exact opposite.

  • Kiggans and Wittman have repeatedly voted to protect Trump’s cost-spiking tariffs that are making everything from groceries to housing more expensive.
  • Kiggans and Wittman voted to pass Republicans’ so-called Big Beautiful Bill, which is ripping health care and food assistance away from hardworking Americans to fund massive tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy.
  • Kiggans, Wittman, and Republicans let ACA tax credits lapse, causing premiums in Virginia to skyrocket.

The DCCC will hold Kiggans and Wittman accountable for jacking up costs for Virginians.

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Jen Kiggans and Rob Wittman campaigned on a promise to lower costs, but the receipts show they’re only making things more expensive. Their cost-spiking record will be a major reason why they lose in November.”
