Kiley and Valadao in a “Health Care Jam” of Their Own Making

House Republicans will stop at nothing to jack up health care costs for working families – and the latest delay of the President’s so-called “plan” to extend Affordable Care Act tax credits is Exhibit A.

POLITICO reported that Kevin Kiley and David Valadao are stuck in “health care limbo.” As their party ties itself in knots, Kiley and Valadao are desperately working to cover their real records of cutting health care and driving up costs at the expense of working families.

REMINDER: Valadao has voted at least 30 times to cripple, defund, or change the Affordable Care Act. In 2018, it cost him his seat. Just weeks ago, Valadao refused a bipartisan effort to reopen the government and protect families from devastating premium hikes. He still hasn’t shown up to do the work.

Kiley and Valadao both cast deciding votes on the largest cut to Medicaid in history. And most notably: neither Kiley nor Valadao signed on to the latest effort to force a vote on protecting ACA tax credits. If they actually cared about bringing down costs, they’d join the push – not sit out.

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser
“Kevin Kiley and David Valadao can pretend they care about keeping health care affordable all they want – but when their party guts Medicaid and threatens ACA tax credits, they fall right in line every time. They stand for nothing but driving up health care costs for working families.”
