In a recent interview, Republican extremist Nick LaLota confirmed his desire to lower the age to buy an AR-15 style rifle to 18 – this came just as he received thousands of dollars from the NRA.
Long Island voters should be concerned that the gun lobby seems to have successfully bought LaLota’s vote. After they cut LaLota a check, he claimed he wants to make it easier for teenagers to buy AR-15 style rifles – the same style of rifle used by 18 year-olds in the tragic Uvalde and Buffalo mass shootings.
This troubling news comes after Jezebel recently broke a damning report that LaLota FIRED a woman who repeatedly highlighted sexual harassment in their office.

“LaLota is clearly unfit to serve. Not only did he demonstrate poor leadership at the local level, but he will be beholden to the gun lobby and a rubber stamp on their terrifying agenda if it means money is coming his way. He’s a danger to Long Islanders’ safety.”
