Lanon Baccam Raises Nearly 2x More Than Zach Nunn in Q1

In only his second quarter in the race for Iowa’s third congressional district, Lanon Baccam has once again outraised vulnerable freshman Zach Nunn, bringing in over $900,000 compared to Nunn’s $524,000.

After launching nearly halfway through Q4 of 2023, Baccam – a first time candidate – raised more than Nunn in that quarter, despite only having half the time to do so.

A former combat veteran, USDA advisor, and rural Iowa native, Lanon’s message of bringing common-sense, effective leadership to Congress is resonating with voters. Lanon has seen a groundswell of support since launching his campaign, including endorsements from former Governor Tom Vilsack, state Auditor Rob Sand, VoteVets, Iowa AFL-CIO, and dozens of local and state leaders.

Meanwhile, Zach Nunn’s record of banning abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest; threatening access to Social Security and Medicare; and refusing to protect quality, affordable health care is out of step with Iowans’ priorities.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“The momentum behind Lanon’s campaign proves that Iowans are ready for new leadership. While Zach Nunn puts partisanship and political gain over Iowa families, voters know they can trust Lanon’s record of service and getting things done.”
