Lawler Cowers, Votes to Protect Santos From Expulsion

After months of meaningless rhetoric, Mike Lawler is coddling his criminal campaign donor with vote to keep Santos in Congress

Despite Rep. Mike Lawler’s belief that George Santos “is unable to fulfill his duties in Congress”, today, Lawler cowered in the face of his radical GOP bosses and instead protected George Santos from being expelled once it came time to vote on his campaign donor.

LET’S BE CLEAR: Despite Lawler’s misleading statements, his vote to refer the expulsion resolution to the House Ethics Committee – which is already investigating George Santos – is nothing more than a vote to secure George Santos’ undeserved place in office and rob Long Island workers and families in Santos’ district of real representation.

His vote today stands in stark contrast to what he previously told New York voters, and this massive hypocrisy proves voters can’t trust him.

New York voters want Santos removed, but the increasingly vulnerable Republican would rather secure Santos’ loyal vote for the GOP’s dangerous agenda than actually respect the will of New Yorkers.

DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“Mike Lawler’s attempt to mislead New Yorkers about his vote is deeply troubling and a clear indication that he can’t be trusted. All Lawler voted for today was to keep George Santos in office, anything else Lawler tries to peddle is a gross manipulation of the truth.”
