New York State estimates show families will be forced to spend an estimated $4,200 in additional federal taxes due to Trump’s tariffs
As Lower Hudson Valley families brace for rising costs on everything from school supplies to prescription drugs, Mike Lawler is nowhere to be found — not at town halls hearing from his constituents, and certainly not standing up for the people he was elected to represent.
Why? Because he’d have to explain why he’s failing to make life more affordable for hardworking NY-17 families.
Making matters worse, Donald Trump is now threatening to impose 250% tariffs on pharmaceutical imports, a move expected to drastically increase the cost of essential medications — and Lawler is standing by without objection, instead pretending to be a champion for lowering drug prices.
As families scramble to get by, Lawler’s big accomplishment was voting to rip away health care and food assistance from tens of thousands of his own constituents.
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Mike Lawler promised to lower costs — but he’s done the opposite. Instead, he’s backing reckless tariffs, ignoring rising prices, and abandoning the hardworking families he was elected to serve.”
