Leaders Jeffries and Schumer, DCCC, DNC, DSCC, and DGA Successfully Block Trump’s Illegal Attack on Mail-In Voting

Following a Federal District Court granting their motion for a preliminary injunction and blocking the Trump administration’s attempt to upend mail-in voting less than two months before Election Day, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene, DNC Chair Ken Martin, DSCC Chair Kirsten Gillibrand, and DGA Chair Andy Beshear released the following statement:

“This ruling from a Trump-appointed judge is a massive victory for the American people and their fundamental right to vote. Republicans made a desperate, illegal attempt to stand between Americans and the ballot box, so Democrats fought back, and we won. Because of this ruling, state law — not the whims of the Trump administration — will govern who is eligible to vote by mail, and millions of Americans will be able to safely and securely vote by mail in the upcoming election. Democrats will continue to fight against Trump’s illegal attempts to undermine the electoral process, and in November, the American people will reject the Republican cost-raising agenda and vote for Democrats who will bring prices down for working families.”
