While Florida families grapple with record-high cost of groceries increasing the price of their 4th of July celebrations by nearly 10%, María Elvira Salazar and her fellow House Republicans are getting a head start today on their taxpayer funded vacations, complete with “big lobster tails” and “nice ribeyes.”
Salazar and House Republicans are skipping town and leaving work early after failing to address skyrocketing gas prices across the country. In Miami, gas is still nearly $1 more expensive per gallon than at the beginning of the year.
Still, Salazar and her fellow House Republicans are “okay with the increase in fuel [prices]” and living the good life on their taxpayer funded salaries because “60% of Americans don’t work as hard” as they do.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“While María Elvira Salazar and her fellow House Republicans are daydreaming about their luxurious vacations, Florida families are worrying about how to put food on the table and fill up their gas tank to get to work in the morning. Salazar is enjoying her undeserved vacation while she can because she knows that Miami voters are going to send her packing this November.”
