LOONEY TUNES: NH-01 GOP Primary’s Race to Right Gets More Cartoonish

Beep, Beep! The Republican Primary in New Hampshire’s first district is racing to the right with candidates taking more extreme positions every day.

On Sunday to WMUR, former Trump aide Karoline Leavitt bragged about:

  • Helping brief Trump ahead of his COVID-19 press briefings where he suggested injecting bleach as a treatment for COVID-19. “I had the opportunity to brief President Trump many times before he took the podium, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Claimed she proudly helped kick Liz Cheney out of leadership.

  • Continued to push the big lie President Trump won New Hampshire, despite the fact auditors found no sign of fraud.

Not to be outdone, new entrant into the race Gail Huff Brown proudly declared to WMUR:

  • She was much more conservative than her well-known carpet-bagger husband Scott Brown and was a dyed-in-the-wool Trumper.

  • Claimed without evidence there “were a lot of irregularities” in the 2020 election

  • Said she “totally” supported New Hampshire’s recent abortion ban that forces women seeking abortions at any stage of pregnancy to receive an ultrasound and said she supported Texas’ right to effectively ban abortion at six weeks by allowing private citizens to sue anyone who helps a woman access an abortion

DCCC Spokesman James Singer

“This GOP primary contest to out-Trump and out-extreme each other may win plaudits from Marjorie Taylor Greene fans, but these reckless and dangerous positions disqualify these candidates from holding public office.”
