Lori Chavez-DeRemer Puts New Extreme Speaker and His Agenda Over Oregonians

Today, Lori Chavez-DeRemer elected Rep. Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House. After churning through a slew of other candidates, Chavez-DeRemer went all in for Johnson and his extremism.

In case you haven’t heard of him, here’s a bit about Johnson:

• Johnson pushed for a total abortion ban without exceptions – claiming the overturning of Roe v. Wade would be the “the greatest day of [his] life” – and voted for legislation to punish doctors for providing essential reproductive care…even cheering on calls for their imprisonment with hard labor for performing the procedure.

• Johnson served as the chair of the Republican Study Committee, leading their efforts to slash Social Security and Medicare.

• Johnson was instrumental in the plan to overturn the 2020 election – the New York Times named him “the most important architect of the Electoral College objections.”

Chavez-DeRemer has completely abandoned working families in Oregon, siding with election deniers, anti-abortion extremists, and relentless attacks on Social Security and Medicare.
