MAGA Jay Feely “In Lockstep With Trump” On Unpopular Iran War, Tariffs, ICE Killing U.S. Citizens [AZ Family]

New reporting highlights how MAGA Republican Jay Feely is openly embracing Trump’s cost-spiking agenda – even as the President’s approval ratings continue to take a nosedive.

In an interview with AZ Family, Feely brushed off sky-high gas prices and Trump’s price-spiking tariffs that are crushing Arizona small businesses and cost the average family an extra $1,000 last year.

Feely even “praised the administration’s aggressive enforcement tactics” that led to the shooting deaths of two U.S. citizens earlier this year and doubled down when pressed about the killings.

REMINDER: Arizona’s First Congressional District is far from a MAGA stronghold. The district “has historically preferred more moderate political figures” and is “brimming with the moderate Republicans… [with a] disdain for Mr. Trump.”

  • Despite President Trump’s declining polling numbers, Feely is in lockstep with Trump on the unpopular war with Iran, his handling of the economy and immigration.
  • During an interview, Feely said voters need to trust Trump and that the president is playing the long game. He said the war, the high price for gas and the added costs of his tariffs will all be worth it in the end.
  • Feely praised the administration’s aggressive enforcement tactics. The roundups led to the shooting deaths of two U.S. citizens in Minneapolis at the start of the year.
  • Feely said Trump is doing what former President Barack Obama did and that Obama’s record is even worse. “There were 60 under President Obama. Go ahead and look it up,” Feely said. When asked if they were shot and killed, Feely said, “That’s right, killed under President Obama.”
  • Campaign claim does not check outFeely’s campaign sent a link to a 2016 report, “Fatal Neglect,” to back up the claim. The report looked at migrant deaths in federal custody. It found 56 detainees died in ICE custody but no American citizens were shot and killed by ICE agents.
