After months of lying to Hudson Valley voters and falsely claiming that the GOP tax scam is a win for working families, Mike Lawler went on national television “to reveal that some of [Republicans’] biggest advertising points on the bill to working-class America were actually complete duds.”
During a TV interview where even Fox News couldn’t help but call Mike Lawler out on his lies, Lawler admitted that Republicans’ “no tax on tips” provision will not only expire after three years, it is also capped at $25,000. In other words, it’s a political soundbite with an expiration date.
Now The New Republic is blasting Lawler for his cheap gimmicks, reporting that “the bill is not expected to save the government any money” and will instead “slice taxes on the ultrawealthy and corporations” permanently while adding “upward of $6 trillion to the debt.”
