‘MAJOR’ DISASTER: Big Oil Darling Michelle Steel’s Beaches Are Brimming with Poisoned Wildlife And Toxic Fumes

While Michelle Steel aids and promotes Big Oil, Orange County beaches are devastated by one of the biggest oil spills in California history

This weekend a ‘major’ oil spill off the shore of Huntington Beach and Newport Beach in Michelle Steel’s Orange County district resulted in the poisoning of California’s waters. Michelle Steel responded by asking President Biden to declare a natural disaster. The irony was lost on Big Oil Darling Michelle Steel who voted to shut down the U.S. government and deny her constituents critical disaster relief funding days earlier.

Michelle Steel is no stranger to aiding and promoting Big Oil. Her campaign coffers are flowing with cash from Big Oil and fossil fuel donors. Her legislative record is littered with attempts to block clean water and air protections. It’s no wonder why Big Oil and Michelle Steel have each other’s backs.

DCCC Spokesperson Adrian Eng-Gastelum

“Big Oil Darling Michelle Steel has long put her campaign donors’ interests above the interests of Orange County. Orange County voters deserve to enjoy their beaches without fear of hospitalization. Michelle Steel’s toxic relationship with the fossil fuel industry is harming tourism, killing local wildlife, and endangering OC beachgoers.”
