New Mexico’s governor and Democratic congressional delegation recently announced that the state of New Mexico will receive major funds through the Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act. The $43.7 million investment will help New Mexico clean orphaned or abandoned oil and gas wells, which, if left unattended, can leak planet-warming gas and pollute water.
Improvements like these are made possible through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which Rep. Yvette Herrell voted against. If Herrell had her way, funds like these would not be available to New Mexico.
Herrell knows these investments are popular in her district. That’s why she hypocritically urged the EPA to use infrastructure investments in New Mexico even after voting against the bill that funds them – keeping up her long term charade as she pretends to advocate for her constituents while voting against their interests in Washington.

“As critically needed investments flow into New Mexico thanks to Democrats’ leadership, Yvette Herrell is scrambling to cover up her reckless record of voting against the bipartisan infrastructure deal. But Herrell can’t rewrite her record: Voters will remember that when given the opportunity to deliver results, Yvette Herrell voted against the environment, good-paying jobs, and the state of New Mexico.” |
