A new CNBC survey makes clear that voters will overwhelmingly hold responsible Donald Trump and the vacationing House Republicans for the economic pain and harm caused by their government shutdown.
The same poll shows that Trump’s economic approval rating has plummeted to 42% with a majority of voters disapproving of his handling of the economy. Worst for Trump and Republicans, 62% of the public disapprove of his policies on inflation and the cost of living.
The numbers come as millions of families are bracing for skyrocketing health insurance premiums thanks to House Republicans’ refusal to extend the enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credits.
