Malliotakis Declines to Fire Hitler-Praising Consultant

Campaign Advisor Screams “Heil Hitler,” but Congresswoman Malliotakis Won’t Sever Ties, Dodges Media Instead

Nicole Malliotakis dodged questions about the future employment of her top strategist and former campaign manager Leticia Remauro, who can be seen in a now-deleted video saying “sometimes you got to say ‘Heil Hilter’” on camera.

According to the New York Daily News, Remauro’s agency was paid a whopping $90,000 by Nicole Malliotakis’ congressional campaign, but when pressed by reporters about Remauro’s future employment as a top strategist for Team Malliotakis, a spokesperson “declined to say if the congresswoman will cut all ties with Remauro over the offensive comment.”

And the New York Times also reports that “Ms. Malliotakis did not immediately respond to a request for comment.”

Hmmm. Looks like Malliotakis is already dodging questions about her decision to retain her Hitler praising strategist after just two weeks in Washington. Go figure.

“Congresswoman Malliotakis’ refusal to fire and sever all ties with Leticia Remauro tells you everything you need to know about her brand of leadership,” said DCCC Spokesperson Christine Bennett. “Nicole Malliotakis started off her time in Washington undermining our democratic process by voting to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, and now she’s dodging legitimate questions about her ties to Nazi sympathizers. Congresswoman Malliotakis took no time to show Washington who she is and it’s embarrassing for the people of Staten Island and South Brooklyn.”
