Maloney: House GOP, NRCC Are Complicit in Taylor Greene’s Continued Offensive and Antisemitic Rhetoric

Minority Leader McCarthy, NRCC Chair Rep. Tom Emmer once again fail to act on Marjorie Taylor Greene’s reprehensible rhetoric, hold on to her $175,000 pledged campaign donation

Congressional Republicans seem to have no limit when it comes to refusing to take action to hold Marjorie Taylor Greene accountable for her offensive rhetoric.

After saying last week that mask mandates being enforced on the House floor are “exactly the type of abuse” Jewish people faced in Nazi Germany, Taylor Greene doubled down on her horrible comparison with more despicable comments:

“Marjorie Taylor Greene’s insistence on trivializing the torture and murder of six million Jewish people to draw a ridiculous comparison to mask wearing is reckless, offensive, and truly asinine. Even worse is Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer’s absolute cowardice and inaction after her repeated racist and antisemitic comments,” said DCCC Chairman Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney. “Both McCarthy and Emmer are silent on whether they’ll return the $175,000 she pledged to the NRCC. Without real action, McCarthy and Emmer’s refusal to hold her accountable for these disgusting comparisons make them complicit in the hateful ideas she spouts.”

REMEMBER: NRCC Chairman Rep. Tom Emmer and Minority Leader McCarthy are still mum on whether they’ll return the $175,000 Marjorie Taylor Greene pledged to the NRCC.

This is hardly the first time Taylor Greene has spouted hateful rhetoric and faced no consequences from Republicans. From her white supremacist caucus, suggesting Muslims shouldn’t work in government, and saying she would be “proud” to see a Confederate monument if she were Black, Taylor Greene has shown the Republican Conference her true colors.

McCarthy’s weak condemnation is not enough. It’s clear they have lost control of their caucus and have handed the reins of their party over to QAnon conspiracists and extremists.
