So-called moderate Marc Molinaro spent the past couple of weeks cozying up to MAGA extremists like Matt Gaetz as the chaotic Republican House caucus led us to the brink of a government shutdown.
Don’t worry, Molinaro’s efforts to side with the far-right wing of his party haven’t been in vain. Gaetz returned the favor by publicly praising the vulnerable Hudson Valley Republican for siding with MAGA extremists, calling Molinaro “an ally” on The Charlie Kirk Show:
Matt Gaetz: “There are moderates who have been helping. Mike [sic] Molinaro of New York is the guy who actually had the idea to get onto this packet of single subject bills… And certainly Marc Molinaro of New York has been an ally to date trying to get some momentum in the appropriations process.”
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“Marc Molinaro is MAGA extremist Matt Gaetz’s ally. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.”
