As women across the country endure the unimaginable, brutal consequences of Republican’s war on women, Marc Molinaro and House Republicans are doubling down on their anti-choice agenda in the early days of serving in the majority.
Earlier this week, in one of his very first votes in Congress, Molinaro voted against consideration of the Women’s Health Protection Act which would codify the reproductive freedoms Roe v. Wade guaranteed before the Supreme Court ripped them away.
REMINDER: Molinaro’s record shows a long and deceitful crusade against women’s freedoms. Molinaro said he would work to protect state abortion rights if Roe v. Wade was repealed during his run for governor, but Molinaro blatantly opposed New York’s Reproductive Health Act, which codified Roe v. Wade into New York State law, and has opposed Medicaid funds being used for abortions. Molinaro even transferred thousands of dollars from his state campaign account to an anti-choice organization that operated crisis pregnancy centers, best known for lying to pregnant women about their care options.
DCCC spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“When it was politically useful, Molinaro downplayed House Republicans’ commitment to banning abortion nationwide and suggested he would be reasonable in protecting women’s freedoms. Now that Molinaro is in Congress after a tough election, he is showing voters his true cards: Molinaro is an anti-choice extremist who supports Republicans’ war on women.”
