Since President Biden and House Democrats have been guiding our economic recovery, our nation has created 7.9 million new jobs. Thanks to Democrats’ economic leadership, the US economy continues a strong rebound from pandemic lows, unemployment rates are down to 3.6%, and over 400,000 jobs were added in March alone.
First quarter numbers impressed economists, adding nearly 1.7 million jobs, all of which are helping the economy exceed pre-pandemic strength. The largest gains in March were in the hospitality and leisure sector, suggesting that America is rounding the corner on the pandemic and excited for summer vacations and local tourism.
The steady and strong economic growth ushered in by President Biden and House Democrats’ leadership is getting Americans off the sidelines and back to work. Smart legislation that supports small businesses and infrastructure projects is helping the American economy build towards a better, more sustainable future. The American Rescue Plan and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act have surged economic growth across all sectors. Today’s numbers are a clear reminder that our economy is growing because Democrats – not Republicans – are at the helm.
