Late last night, the House passed the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act, following the racially-motivated mass shooting in Buffalo, New York. The legislation will set up offices specifically focused on tracking and analyzing domestic terrorist activity at the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the FBI with the goal of preventing devastating attacks, rather than just reacting after the fact.
María Elvira Salazar and Carlos Giménez joined 202 other MAGA Republicans in the House to oppose legislation to prevent domestic terrorist attacks.
Why?
DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“María Elvira Salazar and Carlos Giménez’s shameful votes to block efforts that would prevent mass shootings and acts of domestic terrorism are cowardly and indefensible.”
