María Elvira Salazar Opposed Lowering Drug Costs

Today, the Biden administration announced the first set of 10 medicines that Medicare will finally have the power to directly negotiate the price of thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act – a law María Elvira Salazar opposed in Congress.

Drugs to fight cancer, diabetes, and heart disease will be more affordable for Floridians- no thanks to María Elvira Salazar.

In addition to this newly announced reform, the Inflation Reduction Act is already saving Floridians money by capping the cost of insulin to $35 per month for qualifying households and making the Shingles vaccination free.

If María Elvira Salazar had her way, Floridians would be paying more for prescription drugs.

DCCC spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“María Elvira Salazar voted against legislation that lowers the cost of life-saving prescription drugs, delivers for Florida families, and stands up to Big Pharma. Get real.”
