María Elvira Salazar Schemes to Make Americans Pay More for Medicine

House Republicans “absolutely” want to repeal existing laws that lower prescription drug prices

María Elvira Salazar and House Republicans have honed in on one of their closing messages with less than fifty days to go until Election Day: make medicine more expensive.

Salazar and House Republicans continue to make it clear that they “absolutely” want to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act and raise prescription drug costs for seniors and families, following in Project 2025 and the Republican Study Committee’s footsteps.

Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act allowed Medicare to negotiate down the cost of prescription drugs and capped the cost of insulin for Medicare recipients at $35 a month. The insulin price cap alone is saving 1,900 people in FL-27 an average of $440 a year.

Not a single House Republican – including Salazar – voted for this law.

DCCC Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:
“María Elvira Salazar wants to make medicine more expensive for Floridians.”
