María Elvira Salazar Votes to Stifle Venezuelan Small Businesses

Last week, María Elvira Salazar again abandoned Venezuelans in Miami, voting to make it harder for Venezuelans to start small businesses and contribute to their communities.

As Republicans continue to attack Venezuelans in Florida, Salazar sided with the extremists in her party and voted to prevent Venezuelans on TPS (Temporary Protected Status) from obtaining small business loans. Small business owners in Miami’s “Little Venezuela” already face extreme uncertainty after Trump and Florida Republicans’ attempts to end TPS for Venezuelans.

Salazar has repeatedly failed to stand up for Venezuelans in Miami, refusing to call out Trump’s attempts to end TPS and celebrating Trump’s latest travel ban on Venezuela.

DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“María Elvira Salazar loves to use the Venezuelan community to score political points, but will never stand up for them when it matters. Venezuelans and everyone in Miami-Dade deserve a representative they can actually trust.”
