The Supreme Court has officially overturned Roe v. Wade, eliminating the constitutional right to abortion for millions of women and undoing 50 years of precedent. It’s a future that Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Ashley Hinson, and Zach Nunn have long worked toward – and now they will have to own up to their extreme, deeply unpopular positions.
Iowans need to know Miller-Meeks, Hinson, and Nunn’s dangerous record on reproductive freedom, including supporting a radical nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or saving the life of the mother.
Make no mistake: Miller-Meeks, Hinson, and Nunn are on the wrong side of this issue. Polling conducted after the leak of the SCOTUS draft opinion overturning Roe shows: by a two-to-one margin, people oppose Roe being overturned; 80% of people believe abortion should be decided between a woman and her doctor; and nearly two-thirds of people oppose the GOP’s plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.
Hinson, Miller-Meeks, and Nunn will be held accountable for their party’s role in decimating women’s reproductive freedoms and their plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.
DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn:
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Ashley Hinson, and Zach Nunn bear responsibility for this devastating Supreme Court decision. The stakes in this election could not be higher: electing Miller-Meeks, Hinson, and Nunn would put House Republicans one step closer to their goal of putting politicians between women, their doctors, and their private medical decisions.”
