Mariannette Miller-Meeks Marches Toward Nationwide Abortion Ban Before 51st Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

Today, Mariannette Miller-Meeks and House Republicans passed two bills that chip away at women’s constitutional freedoms and attempt to deny them access to essential reproductive health care.

These measures would use federal funds to spread misinformation and prevent vulnerable communities from seeking essential health care. The first of these was even endorsed by the extreme, anti-choice National Right to Life Committee, an organization that advocated for a national abortion ban.

This is just the latest step in Miller-Meeks’ crusade to ban abortion nationwide. She co-sponsored a national abortion ban with no exceptions and voted for a state constitutional amendment that would eliminate the right to an abortion in Iowa – similar to a measure that the GOP-led legislature is pushing to be on the ballot this November.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Another day, another anti-abortion vote by Mariannette Miller-Meeks. Time and time again, she pushes extreme efforts to ban abortion nationwide no matter how unpopular or dangerous these relentless attacks are.”
