In a revealing new interview with TIME magazine, Donald Trump gave a preview of what his second term would look like – including abortion bans and prosecuting women who receive abortion care.
Trump made the case that to fulfill his dangerous agenda he would need a Congress filled with loyal foot soldiers, specifically pleading to House Republicans: “I need allies there when I’m elected.”
Trump’s radical agenda would:
Empower states to prosecute women who have an abortion.
Allow the Life at Conception Act to become the law of the land, which would ban abortion and essentially outlaw IVF nationwide.
It’s clear Mariannette Miller-Meeks will fall in line. In the state legislature, she voted for a bill that could jeopardize Iowa women’s access to abortion, birth control, and IVF, and even supported a constitutional amendment that would eliminate the right to an abortion in Iowa with no exceptions.
