Marjorie Taylor Greene Paints Grim GOP Outlook: We Are Going to Lose the House

In announcing her resignation from the House, Marjorie Taylor Greene predicted that Republicans will lose the House of Representatives in 2026 for fully submitting to Mike Johnson’s disastrous agenda.

Following her announcement, a senior House Republican, speaking anonymously to Punchbowl News, agreed with Greene and said that more Republican resignations are coming.

“Members know they are going into the minority after the midterms. More explosive early resignations are coming. It’s a tinder box. Morale has never been lower. Mike Johnson will be stripped of his gavel and they will lose the majority before this term is out.”

At the same time, leading the homepage of The Hill is an in-depth look at the private and public acknowledgments from Republicans that their miniscule majority is rapidly slipping away. According to sources in the story, Republicans know the rising cost of living and health care are responsible for their party’s poor standing.

“Republicans acknowledge that rising health insurance premiums, the issue that Democrats want to put front-and-center in the election year, along with health care costs, more generally, are a major problem for their party.”

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton
“It’s not just Marjorie Taylor Greene. Everyone knows the failed GOP majority will be rejected in November 2026 when Democrats take back the House.”
