Marking One Year Without Roe, DCCC Launches Campaign to Hold Tom Barrett Accountable for Anti-Abortion Extremism

One year later, vulnerable House Republicans continue their push for a national abortion ban

One year after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, likely Republican nominee Tom Barrett has continued to support extreme abortion bans, despite an overwhelming 80% of Americans who oppose a national abortion ban.

To highlight just how out of step Barrett is with the voters he seeks to represent, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee this week launched a new microsite, expanding upon an investment from last year that outlines Barrett’s dangerous attacks on access to reproductive health care:

The DCCC is making the stakes of this election crystal clear in Michigan. With this campaign and others throughout the cycle, the DCCC will continue to highlight the extreme anti-abortion positions that Barrett has staked out.

To that end, the DCCC is distributing a fact sheet highlighting Barrett’s dangerous positions on stripping away reproductive freedoms HERE

DCCC spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“Tom Barrett will stop at nothing to ban abortion nationwide. Barrett cannot be trusted to defend Michigan womens’ fundamental rights and freedoms and, as a result, will once again fail to get elected in 2024.”

Earlier this week, the DCCC released a memo detailing why abortion remains a key electoral issue for 2024, which can be found HERE
