Pilip to CNN: “If [Trump] can come to help me, I will appreciate that”
Mazi Pilip – who refused to publicly address the voters she seeks to represent once again this past weekend – turned to CNN to flip-flop and pledge fealty to Donald Trump and his extreme agenda that seeks to ban abortion nationwide, decimate the SALT tax deduction, and use our broken immigration system as a political talking point.
Pilip’s ask of Trump to join her in New York’s Third Congressional District comes just days after she refused to back his presidential bid in an interview with PIX11.
Just like Trump, Pilip:
Said she would not back a bipartisan border security deal negotiated in the Senate, choosing to use the crisis as a political cudgel.
Praised the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and said she would not back legislation to codify reproductive rights.
Derided federal law enforcement officials as “politically motivated” actors for investigating Donald Trump’s actions on January 6.
Unlike his extreme opponent, Tom Suozzi has worked with members of Congress from both sides of the aisle to find bipartisan solutions to secure the border. He even co-authored a plan for comprehensive immigration reform with former Republican Congressman Peter King in 2019 and worked with the Problem Solvers Caucus on a plan to strengthen border security while ensuring a path to citizenship for people who follow the rules.
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“Mazi Pilip is more interested in earning brownie points from Donald Trump and playing politics with people’s lives than finding common ground on the issues that matter most to New York families. Pilip is unvetted, untested, unprepared, and is pushing an extreme agenda that’s dangerous for the people of Nassau County and Queens.”
