House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is in Donald Trump’s winter retreat of Palm Beach, FL for at least the second time since late January, when he and the former president “discussed strategy” ahead of the 2022 midterms.
This comes just days after reports that McCarthy hired Trump’s “go-to guy for congressional elections” to lead his own political operation, in a clear sign that McCarthy plans to continue embracing Trump and the QAnon mob. Last week, McCarthy “tried to rewrite history” in a “heated exchange” with CNN’s Manu Raju when confronted about his support of overturning the election results even after the QAnon mob violently stormed the Capitol.
“Kevin McCarthy’s midterm message for House Republicans is clear – oppose much-needed relief to get checks in pockets and shots in arms, and bear hug Trump and the QAnon mob that has taken over the GOP,” said DCCC spokesperson Helen Kalla.
