Memorándum: Las Convenciones & Cambio a la Elección General

Las convenciones le darán inicio a la elección general, y los republicanos de la Cámara de Representantes están marcando esta ocasión alineándose a Donald Trump.  El presidente de la Cámara de Representantes, Paul Ryan, encabezara esos esfuerzos cuando de su discurso en la Convención el martes por la noche, incluso cuando Donald Trump sigue promoviendo sus peligrosas políticas y dividiendo a los estadounidenses. En el momento que los votantes de la elección general comienzan a participar plenamente, los republicanos de la Cámara de Representantes están poniendo su partido primero antes que nuestro país al respaldar a su candidato oficial.

Aquí están algunos puntos sobre las Convenciones Nacionales Republicana y Demócrata y el significado antes del ocho de noviembre:

  • En la Convención Nacional Republicana, el “establishment” republicano se alineará a Donald Trump – pero el pueblo estadunidense rechazará su candidatura.
    • Votantes de la elección general saben, especialmente los votantes Hispanos, quien es Donald Trump – lo asociaran al partido republicano y a los republicanos de la Cámara de Representantes: Los votantes de la elección general – gente común quienes están en shock y asqueados con Trump y lo que ha pasado con los estándares republicanos – también están desilusionados con los congresistas republicanos que apoyan a Trump. Es claro que los congresistas republicanos están dispuestos a unirse a Trump, y a implementar su peligrosa visión para nuestro país.
    • Esto no será “GREAT” para los republicanos: A la solicitud de Donald Trump, republicanos en el Congreso describieron su junta en Washington D.C. como “estupenda” la semana pasada y ahora el presidente Ryan y el líder Kevin McCarthy darán discursos en la Convención Republicana apoyando a su candidato. Esto no cambia que los votantes independientes y los republicanos moderados no están tan “great” con la situación del partido republicano. Esta maniobra política es como ponerle una venda encima de la fractura del partido republicano. Los republicanos surgirán de su convención más dañados y disfuncionales que nunca.
  • Después de la Convención Nacional Demócrata, los demócratas estarán más unidos y proveerán un contraste positivo a los republicanos:
    • Las convenciones traerán unidad entre los demócratas: Los demócratas, desde Hillary Clinton y el resto de los candidatos demócratas, se beneficiaran extremadamente de la unidad y el impulso de las Convenciones.  Esta unidad democrática es gracias al entusiasmo democrático hacia la Secretaria Clinton, combinado por el rechazo y temor de Donald Trump y su potencial de convertirse en el próximo presidente.
    • Las convenciones traerán un contraste claro: Hasta ahora, los votantes de la elección general han visto la elección atreves del lente de Donald Trump –  y otra vez, no les gusta lo que están viendo. Después de las Convenciones, los votantes de la elección general estarán poniendo más atención a los candidatos en la boleta, particularmente a aquellos republicanos que se han alineado a Trump. Esta evaluación entre las opciones que tienen los votantes en noviembre no solo beneficiara a Hillary Clinton en su contienda contra Trump, pero también ayudara a los candidatos demócratas para el Congreso quienes estarán haciendo responsables a los republicanos que no denunciaron a su candidato.

Es probable que la mayoría de representantes republicanos en distritos competitivos no asistirán a la Convención en Cleveland, cuyo es completamente irrelevante a la conversación. Then… “I cannot back a candidate who denigrates people based on their ethnicity, religion, or disabilities.”

CA-24 Candidate Justin Fareed Fareed: “Fareed supports Donald Trump for president.”
CA-25 Congressman Steve Knight Knight: “For his part, Knight has kept his distance from the GOP’s presumptive presidential nominee, declining to offer Trump any formal support. He is also planning to skip the Republican National Convention. ‘I have never endorsed for a presidential candidate, and that’s a consistent record I’ve had in and out of politics,’ Knight said in an interview. ‘I’ll be running my own race.’”
CA-49 Darrell Issa Issa: “Joining Trump on stage were veterans as well as local Republican U.S. Reps. Duncan Hunter Jr. and Darrell Issa.”
CA-52 Candidate Denise Gitsham Gitsham: “My focus is really on supporting the Republican nominee, whoever that is.”
CO-03 Congressman Scott Tipton Added Michael Fortney, Tipton’s campaign strategist: “While Congressman Tipton has not supported everything Donald Trump has said or done, he believes that our country cannot afford a third Obama term.”

 

“Looking at the choice of Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders vs the Republican nominee, [Tipton] will support the Republican nominee,” wrote Tipton’s spokesman Josh Green.

Ashooh was ready for the question with an answer distancing himself from the presumptive nominee without criticizing him. “Elections are about choice, right? So in a choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, there should be no mystery. I’m not voting for Hillary Clinton,” he answered.

NY-01 Congressman Lee Zeldin Lee Zeldin announced his endorsement of Trump and plans to vote for him.
NY-02 Congressman Peter King Peter King announced his endorsement of Trump and plans to vote for him.
NY-03 Candidate Jack Martins Martins has already jumped on the Trump train, telling reporters in May that he’d back Trump as his party’s nominee.
NY-19 Candidate John Faso “From day one, John Faso has consistently said he would support the Republican Party’s nominee. That has not changed.”
NY-21 Congresswoman Elise Stefanik “I will support Donald Trump.”
NY-22 Candidate Claudia Tenney “In contrast, state Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney has said she voted for Trump in the New York presidential primary. “The reason I supported Donald Trump is because we need someone who will shake up the establishment and get away from what’s been going on,” Tenney said during a June 13 radio debate. “Now I don’t love everything he says, but he stands for changing the establishment and they are terrified.””

NY-24 Congressman John Katko Katko said he’d “back whoever the Republican nominee is.”
PA-08 Candidate Brian Fitzpatrick Fitzpatrick said in primary debate he would back whoever PA-08 went for in primary.
PA-16 Candidate Lloyd Smucker Said he will back Trump.
SC-05 Congressman Mick Mulvaney “I’ll be supporting Donald Trump, looking forward to that. I actually think it’s gonna be kinda fun to have a new kind of candidate in the race. Not my first choice – I was a Rand Paul guy but I was pretty excited about having someone who’s outside of politics run at the top of my ticket.”
