Michelle Steel Chose Big Pharma Over American Families

Steel pockets tens of thousands from big pharma while voting against lowering drug costs
New reporting from the American Independent today detailed tens of thousands of dollars in campaign donations that Rep. Michelle Steel (CA-45) received from the pharmaceutical industry as she repeatedly does big pharma’s bidding in Congress.

As a reminder, Steel voted against the Inflation Reduction Act, legislation that will cap drug prices for Medicare recipients across the country. And earlier this year, Steel voted against a bill that would have capped the cost of insulin for Californians.

Yet again, Steel chose lining her own pockets over people, corporations over communities.

Maddy Mundy, DCCC Spokesperson:
“Time and time again, Michelle Steel has voted against legislation to lower the sky-high prescription drug costs for Californians. She has a proven track record of choosing corporations and special interests over families, and voters will eagerly elect new leadership in November who actually deliver for them.”
